140510 - Swissport’s new Safety Management System

Following success in Swissport Americas, Swissport UK has become the pilot country in Europe for the new Swissport safety management system.
AQD; Aviation Quality Database, has been developed by the Superstructure Group. This system allows us to capture, review and manage all accidents / incident. In addition it provides internal and external auditing capabilities. The system is being rolled out globally to all stations by Swissport International.
Development and staff training occurred in March 2010 and the system went live to all UK stations on 1st April 2010. Currently all UK ground handling stations are utilising the Safety Management System and review of the results from this UK launch is currently underway.
The initials are that it has improved the quality of reports and enhanced our ability to track external and internal audits. This will inevitably lead to an enhanced quality service across the business, with more consistent processes and systems all based on quality improvements.
