Mark Faulkner appointed CEO of Swissport in the United Kingdom
Mark Faulkner, formerly general manager of Amey-Colas, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Swissport in the United Kingdom with effect from September 1 2008. Mark (46) has previously served in a number of executive capacities including several years as director of business development at Ferrovial subsidiary Amey UK, where he played a key role in turning the company around. Swissport congratulates him on his latest appointment, and wishes him every success in his new challenge in the aviation sector.
Swissport UK is currently showing positive trends in business-results terms - a development that was underlined by its recent conclusion of a centralised load-planning agreement with Virgin Atlantic Airways.
With a workforce of some 2800 personnel and operations at six airports, Swissport UK offers the full range of ground handling services and presently serves some 50 airline customers. The company generated total operating revenue of over CHF 180 million (EUR 120 million) last year.
The change of CEO at Swissport/Groundstar UK will not entail any further personnel changes in the cargo, commercial and station management fields for the present time.
